Skin rejuvenation often begins with an exfoliation treatment like a chemical peel, but not everyone likes the harsh effects of these procedures on their skin. Now, you can enjoy the benefits of a chemical peel without the damaging side effects. The VI Peel is a treatment that offers the same exfoliation results of other chemical peels, but with a gentler process that is painless without compromising the outcome you want.
What is the VI Peel?
The VI Peel from Vitality Institute Medical Products contains a synergistic blend of powerful ingredients suitable for all skin types. Gentle enough to use on sensitive areas of the face like around and underneath the eyes, the treatment is also powerful enough to address skin imperfections like hyperpigmentation, early signs of aging and acne scarring. This peel offers dramatic results with virtually no pain, no skin preparation and minimal downtime. Why wait weeks – or even months – for results? Enjoy radiant younger-looking skin in about one week with the VI Peel.
What does the VI Peel treat?
In just a single treatment session, the VI Peel can address a host of skin concerns, including:
- Dull or uneven skin tone or texture
- Age spots, freckles and other hyperpigmentation, including melasma
- Fine lines and facial wrinkles
- Acne skin conditions, including active breakouts
- Collagen loss, stimulating new collagen productions for firmer, more youthful skin
Our skincare specialists can assess your individual needs and concerns to determine the best treatment plan for you. Depending on the severity of the skin issues requiring correction, multiple treatments may be needed to achieve your desired results.
What is in the VI Peel?
The VI Peel features a synergistic blend of ingredients designed for optimal results. Those substances include:
- Salicylic acid to exfoliate and reduce inflammation
- Retin-A to soften signs of aging
- Vitamin C to brighten and protect skin
- Trichloroacetic acid for smoothing away shallow scarring and stimulating collagen production
- Phenol provides deeper exfoliation for reducing more prominent aging symptoms
The unique blend in this formulation provides dramatic results in a shorter number of treatment sessions than other chemical peels.
How frequently can the VI Peel be performed?
In the beginning, we may recommend a series of VI Peel treatments, spaced about four weeks apart, to achieve the most dramatic outcome. Once that result is evident, you can maintain a schedule of three or four VI Peels annually to keep your softer, more youthful complexion.
What can I expect from the procedure and the recovery process?
The VI Peel and recovery process consist of an approximate seven-day cycle, in which you will see improvements and changes to your skin almost daily:
Day 1 (day of the peel)
One of our aestheticians will apply the VI Peel solution. This peel contains a numbing agent, making the treatment experience relatively comfortable. The formulation is slightly tinted, so it will leave the skin a bit colored after it is applied. It is also self-neutralizing, which means it doesn’t need to be removed from the skin or neutralized with another solution. You will leave the peel on your face when you leave our office and it will need to stay on the skin for at least four hours. At that time, you will wash the peel off using a gentle cleanser and towelette found in your post-peel kit.
The areas where the peel was applied will feel tight and the skin may be rough to the touch.
This is the day when the peeling will start, usually beginning around the mouth and working its way outward.
You will continue to peel into the cheeks and nose.
Peeling has now reached the forehead and outer parts of the cheeks. The neck will also begin to peel if it was treated.
Most peeling should be nearly finished or completely done. You may find a few areas that haven’t peeled.
Enjoy your fresh, healthy skin!
